When we think about biological control agents in agriculture, we usually think of beneficial insects. When in fact, vertebrate pests like birds, gophers, ground squirrels, and deer do tremendous damage to crops and are difficult and expensive to control. This session covers the specific relationships between vertebrate pests, agroecosystems, quality of habitat, and the success of predators such as barn owls, kestrels, bobcats, and mountain lions.
