Lee F. Johnson

Lee Johnson is a remote sensing scientist and adjunct faculty member in the School of Natural Sciences at CSU Monterey Bay, and is stationed in the Earth Science Division of NASA Ames Research Center. His work involves satellite-based agricultural applications including estimation of crop development and water requirements. Lee has served as an investigator on research grants from NASA’s Applied Sciences Program, California DWR, CDFA, and USDA. He has published over 35 articles in scientific journals as lead- or co-author. On the popular front, his work has been featured by the Associated Press, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, MIT Technology Review, and various agricultural trade publications. Lee is a recipient of professional awards from NASA, the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer, and the American Society of Agricultural Engineers.
